The starting point

The site drew visitors who looked around and left. Few of its pages matched what someone ready to buy gold or jewellery in Dubai was actually searching for, so traffic rarely became an enquiry.

What changed

Pages for people ready to buy

Commercial keywords shaped the landing pages, and buying intent decided what got built.

Later-funnel content

Middle and bottom-of-funnel articles built topical depth and passed internal links to priority pages.

Trust from the investment angle

Backlinks came from UAE investment websites, a natural fit for gold buyers.

How the work ran, step by step

  1. Match pages to commercial searches

Content was aligned with high-intent keywords.

  2. Publish MOF and BOF articles

New posts targeted readers close to a decision.

  3. Link internally to the priority pages

Each article sent authority and readers to a landing page.

  4. Earn links from UAE investment sites

Relevant backlinks added trust signals around the category.

The evidence

Google Search Console
Search Console report for an anonymised Dubai jeweller from February to July 2025 showing 85.5K clicks and 8.13M impressions.

Search Console, February to July 2025. The period totals 85.5K clicks and 8.13M impressions, and the two lines rise together across the six months.

Reported from Google Search Console performance data. Conversions counted forms, WhatsApp and calls. The source does not name the store's platform, so this is not a platform-specific result.

Lessons for retailers

  1. Traffic growth means little if the pages do not match buying intent, so start there.
  2. In Dubai, count WhatsApp and calls as conversions. Many purchases start that way.
  3. Choose link sources your buyers would respect. For gold, investment sites made more sense than general ones.
